Summary

Conversion improves when visitors instantly understand the offer, trust the business, and see one clear next step — especially on mobile. Traffic without conversion is incomplete acquisition.

Why this checklist exists

Getting traffic is incomplete if visitors leave without taking action. Conversion is the bridge between visits and customers.

Use this list on your homepage, service pages, and landing pages.

First screen

  • Headline states the outcome (not only the company name)
  • It is obvious who the page is for
  • Primary CTA is visible without scrolling on mobile
  • Subcopy supports the headline in one or two sentences

Offer clarity

  • Deliverables or scope are understandable
  • “Who it is not for” is honest where helpful
  • Pricing or starting point exists when it reduces fear

Trust

  • Proof exists (work, process, specifics — never invented)
  • Contact options feel real (form, email, WhatsApp as appropriate)
  • FAQ answers real objections

Action path

  • One primary CTA label that matches the action
  • Form asks only for what you need
  • Success state confirms what happens next
  • Mobile tap targets are easy

Measurement

  • CTA clicks tracked
  • Form submits tracked
  • You review weekly — not only monthly vanity traffic

Step-by-step

  1. 01Rewrite the first screen: who it is for, outcome, CTA.
  2. 02Remove competing navigation and offers from key landing pages.
  3. 03Add proof and FAQ that address real objections.
  4. 04Make the mobile contact path obvious.
  5. 05Track CTA clicks and form submits.
  6. 06Change one major element at a time when traffic allows.

Definitions

Primary CTA
The main action you want on the page: contact, book, buy, or apply.
Friction
Anything that makes the next step harder: unclear offer, long forms, weak trust, or buried contact options.

FAQ

Conversion is when a visitor takes a meaningful action: inquire, book, buy, or start a conversation. The rate is completions divided by visitors.

Prefer one primary CTA. Secondary actions are fine if they support the same decision. Competing asks leak attention.

CRO (conversion rate optimization) is the ongoing practice of improving conversion with research and testing. This checklist is a practical starting point for that work.
